Pest Control the Natural Way

When it comes to household pests we are all looking for a way to get rid of them. Due to advertisement, we tend to look for commercial products as the solution. Sometimes, though, using all the commercial products with dangerous chemicals may not seem like the best step, especially when you have kids at home.  There is a safer approach you can try.

Natural pest control uses safe, natural products that can usually be found right in your house, most of the time at your kitchen.  I have the following a list of common pest control natural products that can be made from items that are commonly found in the kitchen.  They are definitely safe to use even if you have pets, children and food. They pose no risks to health unlike the commercial pest products.

Here are my suggestions:

- Baking soda and Powered Sugar.  Mixed equally together can get rid of roaches.  Just put it where you have seen them.

- Basil.  Can be used like mint to repel flies.

- Cayenne Pepper.  Can be mixed with water and used as a barrier around entrance ways or put in a spray bottle and sprayed around areas where pests are found.

- Chalk.  Can be used as a barrier near entrance ways to keep ants out.

- Cinnamon.  Can be mixed with water and used as a barrier around entrance ways or put in a spray bottle and sprayed around areas where pests are found.

- Cloves.  Cloves keep away moths.  They work just like moth balls and they are 100% safe!

- Cucumbers. Spread peels around the area where ants enter your home.  They do not like them and will not enter.

- Garlic.  Ground up garlic can be sprinkled around entrance ways to keep bugs out.

- Lemon.  Another ant repellent, straight lemon juice can be sprayed wherever ants are seen.

- Mint. Repels flies and ants.  Mint can be planted and grown in problem areas or extract can be put in water and sprayed around problem areas.

- Rosemary.  Ground rosemary is a great flea repellent.  You can dust your dog and your home with it.

- Wine.  Wine mixed with a capful of dish detergent and sat in a bowl will get rid of fruit flies.
